Jesse Harasta is a member of the Syracuse chapter of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and an active participant in the local ecosocialist committee’s campaign to end childhood lead poisoning. He is also an anthropologist, a professor of international studies, and a former member of his institution’s research ethics review board.
To develop the desperately needed vaccine for COVID-19, we need to test that vaccine on human subjects. Socialists have to fight to make sure for-profit medical companies don’t abuse those subjects.
