Jacobin Is Looking for a Programming Fellow

We now have a one-year fellowship open for a full-stack developer.

Join the Jacobin team.

Jacobin Foundation is offering a one-year fellowship for a full-stack developer. It’s an exciting position with a fixed salary and a generous benefits package, including health and dental coverage.

As a fellow, you will work on developing applications that serve the websites of our various titles — Jacobin, Catalyst, and Tribune — as well as powering our publishing operations. The main application is a 50K LOC Haskell server and Haskell is used in most of our application development. We also have some smaller front-end applications written in Elm that we intend to develop going forward.

As part of the position, you will be expected to not only work on the development of our web applications and internal tools but also to contribute to the development of open-source libraries. Much of your work can be done remotely, but we’re looking for applicants in the New York metropolitan area able to come into our Brooklyn office as necessary.

An ideal candidate has both a passion for socialist politics and functional programming. Take a look at the listing and apply by June 6.
